The Wrong Person Can Sometimes Be Right By Wendy Weiss

By the Sales Expert

Having a hard time putting a name on the decision-maker? Can’t get the information you need to qualify your prospect? Want to know the best time to reach your prospect directly? There is a solution. Call anyone–as long as they’re not your prospect.

Let’s say that you are having a difficult time finding the name of the decision-maker. You’ve done the easy stuff, checked the prospect company web site and called and asked the receptionist who has told you she’s not allowed to give out that information. What now?

The first thing that you could do is make up a name. Yes, make up a name and then call your prospect company and ask for that person. When the receptionist says, “There’s no one here by that name,” sound confused and then say, “(Made up name) was your (fill in the appropriate title). Who has taken over that position?” The receptionist may very well give you a name. Read the rest of this entry »

Honey, I Am Having a Business

By the Free Articles

I coach a lot of new business owners-many of them are women-and most of them have a common struggle. They have a spouse that gets stressed about the amount of money and time it takes to build a profitable business.

I know-the irony-it takes money to make money.

Here are some of my recent thoughts on how you might help your non-entrepreneurial husband understand your need to “have this business”…

First-sit your husband down and break the news.

Say it slowly so that he actually thinks you will say “baby” at the end and then be relieved when you say “business” instead.

So say, “Honey, I am having a business.

Then proceed to get him ready for the arrival by sharing the following. And don’t worry-eventually-your husband will adjust to the new baby, I mean business.

Here are some points to make in your heart-to-heart conversation. Good Luck!

There will be at least nine months of waiting to see my hard work emerge-It takes time to build a strong foundation for my business. I will need coaches and mentors to give me the right advice on how to bring this business into the world. So please be patient if I get a little moody. I am growing and learning new things.

We will have to spend some money to help it flourish and grow-We will have to invest in some new “stuff” in order to give birth to and to be able to feed this new business in the coming years.

We will have to be willing to let it constantly learn and make mistakes-I won’t have all the answers and I sure can’t offer you guarantees about how this will turn out-but I know I will only become more successful at parenting this business when I am actively playing with it and paying attention to it. So I might not have as much time for you as I used to.

There will never be a right time to do this-I know for a fact that there will never be a right time to do this. We will never have the perfect situation to start this business. I am willing to grow into a new person if you are.

I know I don’t have all the answers-I won’t know a lot in the beginning and it will probably be stressful until we get used to our new lives, but I know deep in my heart if you are on board-we can make this work.

We will never know the feeling of having our own successful business if we don’t try
-This will be an exciting journey for us with many challenges but I know it will be worth it and I do know that it will change our lives for the better if we let it.

Three Ways to Economy-Proof Your Business Without Hurting Your Brand By Vickie Sullivan

By the Speaking Expert

During a down economy and uncertain financial times, clients think it is natural to pull back from investing in big-ticket solutions…even though they still need outside help to solve their problems. In response, many high-end professional service firms get flexible when potential clients balk at “risky” high-end investments.

The challenge in being flexible is finding the boundary between the need to be nimble and the appearance of desperation, between the need to generate revenue and the appearance of having a fire sale.

Below are three ways to be flexible without damaging your first-class reputation.

How to push past your limits in business…

By the Announcements

Every once in a while, something comes along that “changes the game”…

…a disruptive technology, a new idea, a scientific theory.

It’s rare, but it does happen.

Well, one such item recently came across my desk…

…and I suddenly realized, “Wow this is unprecedented. This is new.  This is groundbreaking.”

What is it?

It’s a brand new book (and teleseminar series… more on that in a moment) by my friend and colleague, Dr. Larina Kase, called The Confident Leader: How the Most Successful People Go from Effective to Exceptional.

http://www.ConfidentLeaderBook.com/sheri

The Confident Leader combines cutting-edge research and on-the-ground experience to give you a formula for…

…consistently and reliably breaking through your comfort zone — at will.

Larina has actually “cracked the code” to breaking through your comfort zone, predictably and with scientific precision…

…and backs that statement up with over 10 years of research (she’s a Doctor of Psychology and served as a clinical faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania)…

…and countless clients of hers breaking through to new levels of achievement that they previously considered impossible.

You’ll find interviews with business leaders such as Seth Godin, Tim Sanders, Joe Vitale, and 7 equally incredible authors and experts.

She’s also a giver. So today, when you pick up your copy of The Confident Leader, she’ll be giving you access to:

1. An unprecedented LIVE 11-part Confident Leadership Telesummit with world-class experts in business, self-development, and leadership.

2. A selection of exclusive bonus gifts that Larina hand-picked herself from highly qualified and respected experts - definitely not the typical overload of bonuses no single human being could ever actually utilize :)

I’m happy to say that I’m one of the bonus contributors. It’s wonderful to participate in promoting such an important and groundbreaking book.

This is truly too remarkable a book (and overall offer) to miss: http://www.ConfidentLeaderBook.com/sheri

You’ll be very, very glad you did (and a better, more confident leader because of it).

To your success,
Sheri

The 7 Musts of Marketing: How to Build a System That Makes Clients Come to You By Adam Urbanski

By the Info-Product Expert

While preparing for my second annual Small Biz Marketing Summit (a training seminar for service professionals) I was looking for the overall theme to promote my event.

After days and weeks of struggling to come up with the right idea, I finally stumbled upon results of little known research that revealed the “seven marketing habits” of super-successful companies. Instantly I knew I found my “Holy Grail.”

What surprised me the most, was how information so elemental can be so profound at the same time. I’m almost afraid that you might dismiss it at a first glance. So give it a read. I’m sure you will get ideas how to tune-up your own marketing system.

MARKETING MUST #1 — HAVE A PLAN Read the rest of this entry »
