Hi Creators & Big Thinkers,

Welcome once again to all the new subscribers this week!

I hope you had an amazing Mother’s Day weekend… if you were lucky enough to make the choice to slow down this weekend, I am betting that you can probably feel the difference in your body and mind. I know I am still reaping the benefits of the massage I had on Friday. I feel much calmer and more focused than I have in a while.

My challenge to you this week: Choose to slow down to a complete halt at least one hour every week. I hope you can do more than this, but I know for some of you one hour will be hard.  Make sure you write us and let us know if you took our challenge!

Need a few ideas? Here are my favorite ways to unwind: Reading a book outside in my favorite rocking chair when the weather is perfect, reading a book while soaking in the tub (candles not optional), laying by the pool, watching movies with the kids, getting a massage (or manicure or pedicure), and napping in the middle of the day. I’ll admit I don’t always make the choice to slow down as often as I should. I have learned though that eventually the universe makes me slow down. So I might as well plan it into my schedule!

Know Who You Serve—I firmly believe you must be a passionate participant of the target market you choose in business in order to become really successful. For instance—you need to be a woman writer to run a membership-based business for women writers… makes sense—right? Let’s dig deeper. I also believe the amount of passion you have for the target market you serve will be proportional to your amount of success.  Why? Because passion is active, it is energy, it is real. When you feel this way about your customers, it shows. And they love you for it because you make them feel active, energetic, and real. Simply said—you make them feel alive because you are allowing them to connect with other passionate people like themselves.

Be Willing to Invest—The single most harmful mindset that holds you back is: I don’t have the money. If you aren’t willing to borrow money to invest in your knowledge and your expertise, you are simply telling the universe that building wealth isn’t important to you. Period. As long as you are conscious of this choice—there is nothing wrong with it because what has happened is that you have made the choice not to pursue wealth. But if you really want more for yourself, your family—you want freedom from the employer, freedom form worrying about money, freedom to leverage your time however you choose… then you must be willing to invest.
