I hope you had a relaxing and peaceful weekend. I was able to spend some quality time with my children just hanging out at the pool. Just what I needed after a really busy week. Recreation is definitely good for the soul.

Thank you to everyone who wrote in last week to share that you were accepting “our challenge” to you to slow down and center yourself at least once a week. Remember—slowing down every day is even better. The irony: the more you slow down the more you get done. Try it and you will see what I mean.

Focus On What They Want
Across the board—more than anything else—professional, civic, religious, and business associations all have one main member need that they must focus on. The top reason members join groups is to connect with other members. Education, training, and advocacy are also top reasons your members will want to join your group. So make sure you focus on what they really want and not what you think they need.

Don’t Be So Perfect—Concentrate more on implementation than perfection.  Bring an outsider in to access your “work and mindset behaviors” if you aren’t meeting your financial and life goals. Example: My clients often get in their own way because they spend too much time on tasks and projects with absolutely no ROI.  They don’t even see it because they are “in” it. I always tell them, “Quickbooks doesn’t lie to you.” If you aren’t meeting your financial goals then bring in a business coach to look for areas of improvement. An outsider will often see red flags immediately.
